Single Origin
Single origin is a small phrase with broad definition. It is often simplified to coffee that is of from a single producer, crop, village or region in one country. Single farm and single estate means that the far is sourced from a specific mill, farm or co-operative as such in Kenya or Indonesia. It is detailed in to further where coffee is specified as the Estate or Farm name with a specific lot number or it could also be a micro-lot of which a specific terroir or variety where the coffee is planted on that specific farm or it could also means that a specific process is used to process such coffee at a very low quantity. Single variety on the other hand a specific variety is used for a specific lot of coffee, it is usually the case for Ethiopian coffee where a specific genetic of the coffee is used for the lot instead of the ancient heirloom.
