This is an organic natural coffee is sourced from METAD Agricultural Development PLC. It is family owned and currently run buy Aman and Michael Adinew. Through Aman's leadership, METAD has created employment opportunities which 70% of which are women educational opportunities including university scholarship. Asides from its CSR in Ethiopia, METAD is the first and only private state-of-the-art SCAA certified coffee quality control lab on the African continent used to train both domestic and international coffee professionals.
The land which they owns now was given decades before by the Ethiopian emperor to their family matriach - Ethiopian first female pilot, Muluemebet Emiru. This is a foward-looking farm. Its approach extends from farming practice to its worker of which housing and health care is provided.
Hambela grows Ehtiopian hierloom cultivars, it also owns its own mill and process coffee for near by village. The name Alaka is named after one of its village where 300 farmers contribute to this natural processed cup.
