"The dry aroma reveals notes of lemon custard, white peach, bergamot, and sweet floral scents. Upon sipping, the primary flavors of lemon custard, peach jam, and honey yuzu tea take center stage, accompanied by hints of bergamot and orange blossom. The finish offers a lingering floral and fruity aftertaste, with a refined, elegant, and layered complexity."
Selected and curated by Berg Wu, 2016 World Barista Champion and owner of Simple Kaffa, this exclusive coffee selection brings forth the unparalleled quality and complexity that Yirgacheffe is known for. The Wuri Lot has been handpicked to highlight the distinct flavors of Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe region, a globally celebrated area for specialty coffee production.
The Wuri Lot is grown at high altitudes within Yirgacheffe, benefiting from the region’s rich, fertile soil, ample rainfall, and cool climate—ideal conditions for producing outstanding coffee. This particular lot undergoes a meticulous washed process, which removes the cherry’s outer layers before drying, resulting in a coffee that’s exceptionally clean, vibrant, and well-structured. This processing method is managed with precision, allowing the beans to fully express the unique terroir of Yirgacheffe.
This coffee originates from family-owned farms surrounding the Wuri washing station in Worka-Sakaro, Gedeb. Purchased in 2017 by Ranger Industry & Trading, a private company owned by the Minjane family, the Wuri washing station is a respected processing center in the region. During harvest, over 400 small-scale farmers deliver ripe cherries to the station, where the cherries are carefully sorted, pulped, and washed to highlight their full flavor potential.
