Nicaragua - Limoncillo – Yellow Pacamara Pulp Natural

Limoncillo is another farm owned by Dr Erwin Mierisch, the owner and producer of coffee from Finca Mierisch. Traditionally a Lemon farm. The Grandfather of Dr Erwin, Bruno Mierisch bought the lemon farm and convert it into a coffee farm.

Now under the 3rd, 4th and 5th generation, the farm has won many awards and accolades notably when Limoncillo was ranked #2 for the 2008 Nicaraguan COE.

Finca Limoncillo is located in the Matagalpa and it is over 170 hectar in size, approximately 119 hectares is use to plant coffee and the remaining land is used to raise cattle & horses.

This coffee is of the Yellow Pacamara varietal and planted at approximately 1100 to 1200 masl. Known for its bright acidty and sweetness, this coffee is processed as pulp natural. Pulp natural is similar to Honey process, where the skin is removed and the coffee is dried together with the mucilage on the drying beds. This process eventually creates a rounder in acidity and reduce the citrusy with more toffee like sweetness.

Upon grounding, the dry aroma is blackberry and blackcurrant aroma. At first sip, a bright acidity oof blackcurrant and raisin. The coffee is full bodied with and rounded with bright orange acidity. A unique varietal character.
