This coffee is from a female farmer, Hirat Birhanu also the owner of Dumerso washing station. Her family has been involved in the coffee business as long as she could remember. In June 2010, she bought the Dumerso coffee washing station as well as the farm from the government. AT the early stage, she was running the farm and the washing station together with her brother, Surafel. Since 2013, she has been running the farm by herself.

Dumerso farm is about 400 km from Addis Ababa. In Dumerso, currently there are 2 washing station. First is owned by a cooperatives and the other is owned by Hirat Birhanu. During harvest, there will be around 300 workers 95% of which are women. 90% of the people in Dumerso rely on coffee as source of income. To these small holders, coffee sends kids to school, coffee buys medication and coffee provides livelihood. Dumerso coffee do accept coffee from small holders, however, stict protocol applies to ensure that the quality of the coffee is not japordize. Currently there are around 750 small holders that send the coffee to Hirat’s washing station

This lot is processes as washed. To remove the mucilage after pulping, the coffee is fermented for 36-48 hours and washed. The coffee is then dried on raised beds for 12-14 days.

Upon grinding, you can feel the aroma of orange blossom, orange, citrus, and lemon peel after grinding. Sip the juice of grapefruit tea, peaches and orange juice. The feeling fills the mouth, and the end rhyme carries the breath of white grapes. Yakult-like silky texture, lively acid and juicy flavor and sweet but not greasy.
