Colombia La Gabriela Honey
This coffee is produced by a young producer by the name of Catalina Vasquez. The farm name was given after her great grandmother. Catalina Vasquez is a part of younger generation of producers who bring fresh and dynamic to an aging Colombian industry. The average age of Colombian producers is 58 years old.
The farm is located in the region of Antioquia, in the municipality of Ciudad Bolivar. She is the 4th generation of coffee producers. Yet she is the first producer in her family that is courageous to take a different approach by selling her farm's produce by seeking to work directly with an international buyer. Her effort was fruitful. With the technical assistance from specialize agronomist, her coffee reach its potential and she has been exporting her coffee to a family based importer from Bordeux, France since 2018.
Catalina also has a small garden of various varietal of Geisha, Java, Pacamara and Typica in this farm. With her energy and her commitment, this farm has a bright future in the years to come.
This farm has been producing exotic microlots of various processing method. Their honey process is quite exquisite. This coffee is a honey process coffee. Honey process has been one of the mains flavour manipulator process that has been producing a quality cup. This Caturra varietal is planted at 1700 masl.
We really love this coffee. It has a tartness of a tomato juice, acidity of grapefruit and body of black tea. Look out for the pineapple after taste. This coffee is refreshing with bright acidity.
