Colombia La Esperanza Geisha Buenos Aires
This variant is currently sold out
Granja La Esperanza is no stranger in the coffee industry. They own 5 well known farms that has been producing specialty coffee over the past 3 generations. What we have here is the Geisha Buenos Aires.
Back in 2008, the Herrera brothers began researching the Geisha varietal that is grown in Panama. Having acute fascination with exotic coffee varietals, the two brothers brought back these plants to Colombia. Few years later, the Colombian Buenos Aires was being produced at one of their farm, Finca Potosi, in the town of Caicedonia.
The crop size is fairly small, its only about 2 hectares in terms of lot size. The trees are planted at 1750 masl. To ensure good quality produce, the cherry collector are trained to pick only the ripest cherries. The cherries is then fermented for 19 to 22 hours prior to being dried mechanically.
We roasted this coffee at medium roast. Upon grinding the beans, we can feel the delicate floral, frangipani and lime fragrance. At first sip, the flavour bergamot erupted in your mouth (strong) with the aroma of peach, lemon grass with lemon custard at the closure. The coffee is creamy with unique floral notes. It is indeed delicate and elegant. Check out for the Gula Melaka/palm after taste!
