This lot is produce by a single smallholder farmer by the name of Jose Manual Guevara Calderon. He is a member of the El Santuario Association which work directly with smallholders farmer in Cajamarca, Peru.

Snr Jose has been farming coffee all of his life. He takes coffee production very seriously. With the assistance of the El Santuario Association, coffee from Cajamarca are in the radar of the Specialty Coffee lovers as technique and processes has improved the cup produced within the Cajamarca region.

The quality of coffee is taken care by the El Santuario Association. Established in 2017, each members must have coffee growing experience and must share a vision of improving the quality of their production. On average, participating members have between 2-5 hectars of farm size, within the group, the land size to date is around 250 hectares in total. Coffee exported by El Santuario to the world market can be quite substantial in size.

What we have here is from a Microlot offerings from Los Laureles. The farm is about 3 hectare in size and sit an altitude of 1850 masl. Being located, at a high altitude, the best method to process this lot is through Honey Process. Of which only the ripest cherry is picked, slightly depulped and dried on African Beds.

We are facinated by the notes produced by this first offerings from Peru. When the coffee is grounded, you can fee the aroma of orange, caramelish and walnut. At first sip, is orange peel, cranberry with hints of floral fragrance. Its acidity is towards mulberry/blacberrry flavour with an aftertaste of cocoa.
