This coffee is processed at a washing station called the Raro Nensebo which is located in Uraga which falls in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. This lot is a microlot from a small village located in nearby the washing station from called Teraga. For this lot only the 74410 variety is used. This specific variety was selected from an original “mother tree” in the Bishari village of the Illubabor Forest in Oromia which is famed by Gesha Village. The Teraga village sits at an altitude between 2100 and 2350 masl. This lot is contributed by 35 farmers which on average owns 7 acres of coffee farm each.

The Raro Nensebo is owned by Sookoo coffee. The whole operation is led by a man which is known as the King of Guji or locally Ture Waji. Ture Waji started his career as a farm manager and exporter at his cousin farm, The Mormora Estate. When the government liberalized the trade of coffee in Ethiopia, Ture started his own company and washing station in 2018.

Laayyoo is a local word for an indigenous tree that grows a lot in Teraga and it is used for shade. It looks similar to the rain tree that we have here in this part of the world. The falling leaves provide nutrients and act as fertilizer.

This coffee is process as natural. With expertise and experienced held by Ture Waji, the coffee is on par as what we previously had from the Mormora estate.

The coffee is sweet and loaded with blueberry jam, peach, lychee and floral fragrance. At first sip, blueberry jam. A very distinctive berry gum flavour followed by peaches and lychee. The floral aroma is very rich with bergamot fragrance at the end. This coffee is extremely rich and certainly sweet. The aroma is complex and the flavour is changeable.
