This is black beauty microlot is produced by the Windrush estate which is located in Kiambu. Windrush among the first coffee estate, established in 1902 by British settler who started herding cattle and later moved to coffee in 1930. The Gatasha took over the Windrush estate in 1971 by the Gathata Farmers Company which was formed by 300 local residents to manage the estate. The size of the estate is massive. Sitting on 500 hectares of land. Apart from coffee, there are also a huge tea plantation of which Kenya is fame for.

Main varietal planted in the Farm are the SL 28, SL 34 and bourbon. Most of the coffee are shade grown, using Eucalyptus tree and Graviller tree as the afternoon sun can be very very harsh.

The coffee are hand-picked and process in the estate using Kenya's trademark washed process and dried on raised beds. The water used to process this coffe comes from River Raira.

Currently, the estate is being managed by Edward Githinji

The cup is juicy with vibrant acidity. Upon grounding, you can feel the aroma of black plum, black berry with strong aroma of cedar. At first sip, the acidity is bright, the juiciness is towards black plum and the aroma of cedar woods is also clear. The has a very rich and complex acidity, sweet and rich.
