Colombia Finca Las Brisas - Santa Rosa

The municipality of Inzá is located in the corner of the Department of Cauca, bordering with Tolima and Huila and looking out to the west over the Pacific Ocean. Situated on the “Macizo Colombiano” (the Colombian Plateau), which surrounds the high peaks of Tolima and Huila, the region is an important source of water and wildlife, in addition to being prime coffee growing land.

Finca Las Brisas has been producing coffee over the past 3 generations. However since 2017, they have moved away from selling directly to the government based on the C-market, they began working with Specialty coffee exporter, Those Coffee People based in Medellin. 

Its coffee quality changed and their fortune changed too. This microlot is produced and processed by Carlos Alberto Ulchur. This coffee is from Castillo varietal which is common in producing a smooth cup, with decent aroma and citric like acidity in the cup. Being farmed at a microclimate, this coffee produce notes are unlike the typical cup of castillo. At 1900 masl, the density and the size of the beans changed. This coffee is processed as fermented washed. 

Upon grinding, you can feel the aroma of caramel, fruit and chocolate. One entrance is orange zest, orange juice with toasted almond biscuits with caramelized hazelnut aftertaste. The shot goes well with milk
